Spurred on by a post about getting a child locator alarm, I bought one for DD (4 non-verbal ASD) - its still to be delivered. At the same time I got this: www.theidbandco.com/Engraveable-Kids-ID-Silicone-Bracelet-5099
Im really pleased with it - bit of peace of mind that she has our phone contacts on her - and was really quick service. Thought Id share.

The ID band Co. are great. We have used them for years with both dds. Dd1 wears hers all the time - think she has the Junior Sports band - and it does give us good peace of mind. Dd2 wears hers at major stress times like travelling through airports, or days out at Legoland etc. will be getting one for ds as soon as I release him from the buggy Grin

One other thing we use is some covers which fit around the seatbelts, as I drive dd1 a fair distance to school, and in the event of an accident, the chest pad would be the first thing seen, and again has vital info such as dx and contact numbers etc.

Hi Firsttimer - It may have been my post last week! I looked at the bracelet also buy my ds would just take it off and eat it! Instead I ordered a few pin badges from Autism Awareness which we will pin to the back of him which state "I have autism and may not respond to verbal cues If I'm found alone please contact ........

Seatbelt a great idea also.

Hi jess, yes I think so - it was a post about losing sight of a child somewhere busy. The thing thats good about this silicone bracelet is that is snug without being tight, no buckles/velcro etc. So I put it on and there it stays - shes cant get it off one handed and is now leaving it alone.
