Statement finalised and sent a copy - but...

After 3 lots of drafts and amendments to try and improve a statement that was unquantified and unspecified for the most part, the LA have sent back the final statement. I read it through carefully, and I have found all as agreed apart from one part - the bit about SALT, which I argued should specify how much and how often was changed at 2nd draft stage but has now reverted back at the 3rd 'final' draft.

I have checked through the whole thing carefully and that is the only change that has vanished, so I have quickly sent off an email to the LA casework officer to point this out to him. I have also attached the written response he sent me to agree to these changes and the 2nd draft, just to remind him that this was already in the statement.

Does anyone have any ideas what happens now? If it has already been finalised and a bit that was agreed to has been subsequently omitted (presumably they will claim accidental?) can he just change it back and send out a further copy? I only received it in the post yesterday.

Oh yes. You can have numerous finalised statement but whilst you are all fannying around your child isn't getting the provision.

SO, Write the politest email you can muster certain that they have made an innocent mistake and asking for it to be rectified. Give them a deadline of a week and make this clear. Download the appeal forms and begin to fill them out (this is a good exercise in itself as it helps you to be clear in your mind what you are asking for and the reasonableness of it) and send them on the day after the deadline, coping in the LA.

I had this for ds2 and ended up filing for an appeal - they backed down but not until the 11th hour - its ridiculous all the time and effort involved when they know they are in the wrong as its in black and white in front of them.

UPDATE: After 3-4 days still no reply so on Friday I emailed him again, including the original message. Gave until Monday (so it had been a week) and called again. He apparently had 'just gone out' so I called again first thing today and was put on hold, then passed on a message that it will be amended and sent back out again. I hope this happens I really do.

Were you given an expected receipt day? Tbh I'd start your appeal documents now. If they wanted to work in partnership they'd act more like partners and less like bandits on the run.

I agree Starlight. They have definitely been evading me. They have now sent it back changed, however. Thank you so much for all of your advice.
