Trying to find some school trousers my sons who has ASD will wear. Looking for some with a soft elasticated waist. Any ideas where you might find that?

Depends how old he is. We got ours from Asda, but only go up to aged 10 with half(back) elasticated waist. Ds has ASD and will wear them.

Thanks for the links Polter, I am on the look out for ds as he won't wear a lot of trousers, the only trouble is because of his very short legs he is still in 18-24 month size, so trousers can be a problem - I think I will be doing a lit of sewing!

Next's are all half elasticated and adjustable and some fasten with simple poppers and a zip.

We've had to start putting plain black joggers on DS2, though. He was undoing his trousers and walking round with his nappy clad backside hanging out, all day! I'll just have to replace them more often, as they fade (though he's already threatening to outgrow this first batch, after just a month)

I got some from Matalan last year which were soft and elasticated waist might be worth a look? Also m&s do an a skin kind range which are lovely and soft (ds has these) they start at age 3

Hazey - these would probably work in a slim fit, if you're happy to take up hems

Waistband is from a pair of grown-out-of jeans from Next (they do jeans, combats etc with that waistband up to teenage sizes I think). I reckon you could probably do it with a waistband from any old trousers / tracky bottoms, but these waistbands are very comfortable.

Jackster that is ingenious and I shall be copying you!
