Interesting painting by dd2

Dd1 and I are both ill so we're in my bed. Dd2 is pottering happily and decided to paint a picture of us. She showed me the picture, which is lovely, but curiously it's a mirror image of the layout.

I could understand if she'd painted us the 'wrong way round' (I.e. painted me on the right and dd1 on the left) but what she's actually done is flip us, so that our heads are towards the top of the page, but we've stayed in the same position, with my bedside lamp on the same side.

I wonder if it's a first insight to how she interprets what she sees?

I'm also convinced now that she's actually left-hand dominant but writes with her right hand because she's always sucked her left hand.

Not sure if this is the same (and I can't quite work out from your description exactly what you mean - sorry!) but DS does lots of left/right reversals in both reading and writing. His OT says it is part of his sensory difficulties (specifically to do with poorly functioning vestibular system and the way it interacts with his visual system, giving poor spacial awareness and directionality). Would that make sense for your DD?

I'm not sure, tbh. It's as if she held a mirror at the foot of the bed and drew what she saw in the mirror.
