Can anybody recommend a good school in Somerset (Yr 5) with SEN provision. My child's school is frankly atrocious. I spend so much time dealing with them and have to take my child out every lunch time because they will not see to his needs. There is also anissue of bullying both in the playground and classroom - other children have told me my child is being picked on during lessons and the teachers do nothing. Racial insults are also being used. Inaccurately, but that's not really the point is it?

I am on the verge of losing my job (single parent) because I have had to take so much time out. Yes I know I cannot be sacked because of this but my contract will not be renewed. Same thing!

The county cannot give me any advise re which school to apply to - most I contact say they are full or cannot meet my child's needs. My child has not had an annual review for over a year!! The school never have any time to speak to me ("It's a very busy time of year"). I feel absolutely at a loss and have no idea where I can get advice. Please don't direct me to the SCC quango! I am complaining about the school - to the school because that is the process one evidently has to follow before taking the matter to the Dept for Education. It's all so exhausting and time consuming. Any advice !!??

Can I ask what your child's diagnosis is? Do you have a statement? How much help are you entitled to, and are you looking mainstream?
