Toilet training

Hi

My four year old DS has been toilet trained since he was 2.

However, even though he takes an interest into wiping his own bum, I'm a germaphobe. So I have been washing his bum with water, whenever he does a poo. Sorry for being grotesque.

DS is starting school soon, so it's better for him to be fully equipped with using the toilet. He still takes an interest with wiping his own bum, and attempts at it. But how can I teach him to wipe his bum properly? As he only wipes once and then puts into the toilet. To be fair, there is nothing on it Grin.

Do you think it's best to use wet wipes, or toilet roll for my DS to use.

Thanks.

Hi, my ds is 5 and in his first year of school. He is not good at wiping his bottom and always asks me to do it. So far he has never had to do a poo at school. He always does them before or after school. I am a bit worried what will happen when he does need a poo at school. I hope the school would phone me if he needed help but hopefully he would manage.

I always use wet wipes on him at home but when he is practising to do it himself he uses toilet roll because that is what is at school.

I worried a lot about toileting before ds started school but so far there have been no major problems.
