Our Day

A while ago dh donated ( with heavy but glad heart) a number of chelsea football shirts he had collected over his years of supporting Chelsea. The group he donated them to are part of the CHelsea Football in the Community project. This group works with boys who have a range of special needs from cp to down's syndrome, and some missing or with impaired limbs.

We went up to Wandsworth today to see what the group does.... mainly cause I am soo nosy. We watched the boys - of various ages train and then we joined them for a Stadium tour around Chelsea Football Ground. It was inspiring watching them play - apparently they played a tournament last weekend - juniors won and seniors came second.

The tour guide was brilliant - those stroppy shop assistants could take some lessons from him - he genuinely seemed to enjoy taking the boys around and answered their questions with patience ( even when it was the same question that he had answered a number of times) He also made it such fun for them.

It was great watching the enjoyment of the boys and how well behaved they were ( not that that was a surprise.)

We all had a brilliant day.

It sounds lovely. I remember your original post about your dh giving away the shirts.

It's so nice when people like that tour guide take the time to listen to children instead of just getting annoyed with them because they haven't heard/understood something.

What a brilliant day out.

Fantastic eidsvold - you've no idea how much hearing that has cheered up my Mother's Day. Three cheers for DH!

What a lovely day out. I remember you posting about him donating his beloved shirts, I'm sure he's more than happy about it now. Don't think anyone would want my husbands' Tottenham paraphernalia!
