Safety catches for upstairs windows???

So DD who is 7 and has sensory issues, ataxic cp and is extremely impulsive amongst other issues decided to climb out her bedroom window last night. Thankfully all she did was tear her pyjama bottoms and I only found out this morning when I asked her about the dirty marks & tears in them.

Anyway, if she's done it once I can guarantee she will do it again or get her 3yr old brother to do it. So can anyone recommend good safety catches that children can't open? The ones at the local hard ware shop do not look childproof to me

Thanks in advance xx

I have these on all my windows

www.amazon.co.uk/Penkid-Safety-Window-Restrictor-Single/dp/B00D6GIFY8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398859568&sr=8-1&keywords=window+restrictor

They can be deadbolt with key and you can still open windows.

These are brilliant. Have tried them myself. www.fenster.uk.com/index.html

Thanks she still can't see what is so wrong about climbing out a window so my priority is locks and a call to her psychologist!!

Fab, have been wondering if such a thing exists! I'm ordering some tonight, as our crappy uPVC windows don't have internal child locks (just key locks on the handle, so you can't leave the window open).

I see that you screw these into the plastic window frame - does that seem tough enough to withstand jerking and thudding from a particularly determined child? (DS2 not there yet but I try to think ahead a few steps.)

Mine have been very secure, I put them up high so do not tend to get pulled. Measure the gap you want so the child can still not squeeze out. I have them on my front and back door as well, without the key you have to press to release wire or you can use the key to deadlock. I have an escape artist!
