my dd is 7 and has a statement which we are appealing parts 2 & 3.
we have just had independent assessments which suggest she has severe dyslexia and expressive language disorder plus dyspraxia, hypermobility and severe visual perceptional problems.
she is not coping at all since going back to school after easter. she saw me ironing the uniforms on monday and immediately became withdrawn and anxious. she didnt sleep that night and kept pacing around the room saying she felt sick. I let her have tuesday off as was unsure if she was generally unwell. she went back today and was fine at school but since she has been home she has been swearing, hitting, crying, screaming. she has not eaten tea and has been shouting that she wants to kill me with a knife Sad .she then broke down sobbing and said she hates me for not helping her at school and she hates school and her 1:1 ta Sad .
I feel awful that she is having to go through this, whenever I mention things to school they always say she is fine and its like im describing a different child. what can I do to help her?
she attends ms and has her own ta.

thanks zzzzz. tbh I think thats part of the problem - she finds it hard to find the words to tell me and cant yet write words, so she must be feeling very frustrated.
I have calmed her down for now and told her that I love her very much and that things will get better. (I hope that they do, im not feeling confident at the moment, the la are strongly opposing our appeal.)
I think tomorrow I might ask her to draw me a picture of how she is feeling and I could draw one with her.

Does she know about the appeal?
