Took DS into city centre today, train ride and McDonalds as treat. He's a scripter, and it's been worse since start of hols.
There we are walking through the shopping centre when he announces very loudly, " ooooh, my tummy is sore!" So I give him a tummy rub and ask him if he's ok,
" no mummy, I think I'm having a baby!!!!" In an enormous voice, was his reply and then crouched down like he was having a poo! He was reinacting when Mummy Rabbit is pregnant on Peppa Pig. My face was crimson, but also because I was crying with laughter.

:o

DS1 was loudly, in an M&S queue, asking me if i had a baby in my tummy, the other day. No DS1. Will there be a baby in my tummy, one day? No DS1. But one might just grow there, one day, mum. No DS1 [biting my tongue as I restrain myself from reminding him about the birds and the bees in a very public place]

And yes, we've had the talk about where babies come from. His attitude is la la la I'm not listening!

Hi I hope you don't mind me asking OP but you mentioned that your son is a scripter would you or someone else mind telling me what that means .thanks.

He uses a lot of echolalia in his speech, where he'll repeat what is said to him and maybe change some of the words to fit his purpose and lots of delayed echolalia.
He has delayed speech and language, but can learn and repeat chunks of script from his favourite tv programmes or books. This is delayed echolalia. He can suddenly start scripting something he hasn't watched for a few years. But we have found that he can use some of the learned phrases in context, Eg I think I'll just swing a bit longer - pedro pony in peppa pig, is used when we're at the playground and he doesn't wan to get off the swings.
HTH.
