Applying for SA - how much detail to put?

I am finally getting round to applying for statutory assessment for ds1. I have schools support. How much detail do I need to put in the letter? I have a template from the IPSEA website will send all the reports I have, but am really struggling with getting started.

Does it have to be perfect? Someone give me a kick up the arse!

No doesn't have to be perfect as what happens next is the LA write to the school for their views and LA write to you for any more views/info you have so if you get the letter off ASAP there will be a further opportunity for you to add to it if needs be.

you do need to send reports and evidence with initial letter or they will just refuse due to lack of evidence, have replied to another post today with some useful tips for SA application which you might find useful tx

Thanks Toni, I have seen that now, really helpful. All the reports I have are quite out of date and none really talks about what he needs in school - does that matter?

afraid up to date reports are v important - better to send letter now and say report from X and Y to follow in next 4 weeks and then request as many new reports as you can. the LA's will do whatever they can to dump requests on a technicality and out of date reports is just giving them a reason to do so .....
