Annual review cancelled

I received a letter yesterday reminding me that AR was next week.

Anyhow today I sent my parental views, quoting SEN COP and the Law and asking for amendments to ds's statement and asking for an agenda and copies of any reports etc.

SENCO has just emailed me that AR has been cancelled 'due to unforeseeable and mitigating circumstances' and will be rescheduled for May.

Can they do this?

How very annoying! I don't know but it would be odd if it could not be, for instance if the people needed to be present are ill. I asked for an annual review to be rescheduled as my DH was away on the date given ( only 3 days notice). In theory we could have moved it. In practice we could not because the other people needing to come ( it was his transition review) could not come at another time.

Very annoying when they have not explained the reason why. ds2's was postponed a week as one key person could not make the earlier date. As long as they are within the year I guess there is not a lot you can do about it.

I suspect someone essential can't make it.

I have also asked for rescheduling because school never get their resort out on time. Funnily enough they sent it in ds's bag that same day!!

DS2's was postponed, last year, but that was because the SALT was unable to attend, at the last minute, and she was pivotal to the changes I wanted made on his statement.

Just seems weird that the meeting was all go, until I emailed my parental views. Literally half an hour later and it was cancelled.

I wonder whether they suddenly realised that they were supposed to send you copy reports two weeks beforehand and hadn't done it?
