just remembered that u get dla for yourself. how long did it take? we are still trying to Dh claim sorted (forms went in in sept). what info did they use?

Gosh how long - ours only took 2weeks to all comew through - i take it your chasing them???

Hi- once i finally sent them in it took less than a month- so i'd chase it.

I was unable to 'label' myself accurately- so simpy put 'anxiety/depresssion with obsessive tendanciess'....so i am 'proof' that there does not HAVE TO BE A CONCRETE LABEL/DX. I asked my Mental health Social worker to be the person they contacted for info- but apart from that the only info i sent was what i wrote on the form. I mentioned i see a psychiatrist (named him somwhere) and that i was waiting to start seeing a psychologist- and i am also on antidepressantss ans occaisional sleeping tablets.
The only other thing i did was write essays 'in the boxes and outside the boxes' ....much like my posts here- so i think i more than provided enough info- though if they didn't have enough from you then i'd hope they'd contact you.

there is one good thing with it taking a while to process....say you get the 'usual' low mobility and mid care allowance....£53 p/w....backdated to sept.....!!!! But i would make sure it's 'in hand'

p.s- as i am 'watched' by the mental health team etc/psychiatrist etc...i was exempt from interviews/examinations to do with my incapacity benefit...so maybe that 'helped'

we are chasing them (see thread in health 'dla and my dh', was just wondering if they are being awkward and stressing him out which isnt good for his health. poor bloke is feeling useless without having all this as well.

where that wink come from?
