I appealed the amended statement within the statutory 15 day deadline.

Does anyone know what the statutory response time to my appeal letter is supposed to be?

Is this 15 days after asking for changes to be made to the draft Statement? And you are waiting for the Final Statement? If so, they have to finalise the Statement within 8 weeks of the date of the draft/proposed.

Yup I did the 15 day letter 2 weeks ago.

Currently in the middle of a SS child in need core assessment & it would be nice to move the statement stuff along a bit. If that lasts 7 weeks (35 working days) and the response to the statement is 8 weeks, then the SN dept will hide behind that won't they? SW has correctly identified the educational portion as being the only section outstanding.

I'm trying to work out how to tie the two together in a non-confrontational, sensible manner when AR not scheduled till June. Is this one of those times when requesting a TAF/CAF meeting might actually help?

The mainstream school named in the statement are onside with my requested amendments, (e.g only a complete fool would put DS in their school without the appropriate support in place!).
