Decision to assess without appealing? Anyone?

I am hearing a lot about people getting refusals to assess at the moment (awaiting a decision myself) - has anyone had a straightforward decision to assess recently?

I just had my decision to assess last week without appealing. They absolutely will go ahead with your ds hazey I'm sure but I hope it speeds up for you!

Yay!! Central sen have just called to say they have made the decision to assess!!! She was going to get letter into post before last post.

Feel like a knot in my stomach has loosened a bit. One hurdle down!

Well done Hazey! I got my detailed package of info sent off today to support mine, decision due by the end of Feb. I've had a lot of help from a friend who has been through it all in the same LA, which has been brilliant. I have organised for professional reports to be done fairly soon as well.

yay.... I just wanted to post a quick message to say we got our statement through today. Full time 1-1 including breaks, which is what we needed. Parent partnership said bloody hell when I phone to convert the money back to hours.

we have sent it back and forth a couple of times and I did write one of the reports for the nursery to send but hey ho....if it works why not

That's great news Every, it is reassuring that the system works for some people.

I am just worried because I didn't get a good impression from the ed Psych when she visited - I sort of felt like she was hesitant when I said DD needed 1-1.

Got refused today. Oh well.

Sorry Whoknows. I think there is a lot of refusing at the moment because LAs are unsure of how the changes are going to affect them so the less people 'in the system' the better in their eyes.

Thanks. The letter is a standard one which just says they think his needs can be met from the resources the school has, no proper explanation at all. They probably could, if only we knew exactly what his needs were! That's what's so frustrating.

Anyway, I am going to get going with my plans for appeal.
