SALT provision in statement

I have discussed with SALT and this is what I have said so far. She wants me to email with anything else

-sessions every 6 weeks
-ongoing daily salt implemented by ta's in special unit.
-makaton to be used consistently and by all members of staff
-up to date training with makaton and AAC method (to be specified by SALT as and when)
-regular reviews of targets

Is there anything else that anyone can suggest?

seems to cover all the basis, all I would add is to specify1) the frequency of reviews. 2)that sessions every 6 weeks are SALT direct contact with DS.

Thankyou TLP, SALT said that she would specify direct contact with her. I will ask her about frequency of reviews and ask her to put that in her recommendations.

Is it worth specifying that a SALT must set and review the programme that the TAs are implementing?

I know this is screamingly obvious, but I'm thinking about contingencies - we've had times where the SALT goes AWOL for an extended period, and the people delivering the programme have no-one to feed back to or get fresh programmes from.

The 6 week sessions - does your dc need 1:1 direct SALT, group work led by SALT, or therapy conducted at the SALT's discretion?

Is the statement for a DC with a hearing impairment (sorry if I've got the wrong DC)? Some SALTs have a specialism in deafness - if your SALT has this, then it's worth specifying - again, this is for "your SALT gets run over by a bus and they send in the clowns"-type contigencies...
