But i have agreed to DS constant demands for a Spongebob squarepants party in our house in a couple of weeks.

I phoned to tell my sister and she started laughing, "are you mad?" she said.

Yes quite possibly.

So i have trawled the net and found invites, and a party tablecloth.

DS says its not a spongebob party if we dont have "Krabby patties" which i take to mean burgers, great i was planning on ham sandwiches, crisps, cold buffet but no he wants patties!!!!

Its not a birthday party as we are JW,s and dont celebrate them but he is inviting 3 of the boys on our street who are really nice to him and look after him - and.... their sisters, cos its tight to leave them out he says, he would invite all the street if up to him and theres over 40 children on our street so thats a definate no no.

I havent informed DH yet, he will probably have to go and lie down in a darkened room and my mum will probably make sure that she,s in work the day of the party!!!!!

MAd Crazy Idea, but worth it for the smile on DS face!!!!!

Why can't it be a birthday party ??

What is the JW objection to a birthday party, just curious.

Burgers are great for parties - go down well, and tend to get eaten rather than ignored like sandwiches.

Sounds great fun!

Have you got a garden? If so, I'd wait for the 5 day weather forecast before issuing invites, and have the party on a nice day!

Burgers could be done on a BBQ? Give DH something to do....sounds GOOD

like you said - worth it for the smile on ds' face - not mad at all!!!! There is a store here that has fab party stuff - I am going to this afternoon - want me to see if I can get any spongebob stuff and send it to you. WIll take a week by mail though?!?!

jenk1 · 03/08/2006 21:26

sorry eidsvold, only just seen this.

Thats very kind of you to make that offer-thanks.

I think ive got everything, its now turned into a spongebob/pirate party at a hired hall with a bouncy castle and football/table tennis and an entertainer.

I do need to lie down in a darkened room.

It sounds as though it's going to be a great party.
