I applied for stat assessment in December. The 6 week deadline is today but I have heard nothing as to if they are/aren't going to assess. I'm just wondering with the 6 week timeline being over Xmas does that give the LA longer than the 6 weeks? Know August can make a difference but unsure about xmas

No, that doesn't extend the time period. It's in Regulation 11(5) of the Regs at the back of the Code of Practice.

I ended up giving them a call - at least you will know either way. Good luck.

ive emailed them - theres only one sen officer and I hate speaking to her plus shes a nightmare to get hold off - copied in her boss as well - had no response yet. think they will try and say that they are working to a different date of receipt which will be interesting as I hand delivered it! hopefully they will make contact soon - frustrating as ive got everything they needed back to them as early as possible and the letter mentions if I do this they may be able to make a decision earlier.

Hi bjk, I'm going through this at the moment and have had to chase up every stage so far, they did end up telling me they were going ahead with the assessment over the phone when I rang so it may be worth trying to get hold of them on the phone. Everything has gone over the deadlines with me. We were supposed to have a proposed statement this week but looks like its going to be another few weeks again!
