Anyone come across this? Is it just for EBD cases or have people experienced it being used for ASD?

Never heard of it but I'm a long way now from assessments. I could get more but the one we have works.

What one do you have? I am asking because I don't trust the people doing my child's assessment, just want the one that will identify his needs and will focus on him not justify their resource useage or lack of.

Tbh I had an PCT specific assessment which I was suspicious of. I also had a private Dx which was no assessment just a professional opinion from a respected NHS specialist.

He has ASD.

He also has SPD and specific language impairment, possibly ADHD and almost certainly difficulties that a behavioural optometrist would likely Dx.
However none of those Dx would make any difference to us so we haven't worried about them.

The independent EP I've just used did it alongside other assessments.

It says in our report that it was used to provide an indication of DD's current developmental profile and that the fact that she has an Autism Spectrum Condition was taken into account when interpreting the findings. The aim was to have a breakdown of the individual skills that are a prerequisite for learning and engagement with the curriculum.

I hope that helps x

ds had Boxall assessment right at the start of going onto school action plus in reception class.
At that point he had no diagnoses.

It identified social and emotional development delay which resulted in challenging behaviour.
It gives specific data in areas of deficit, and from that a plan for support was developed.

Ds has dx of as and adhd now, and the boxall was a significant piece of 'evidence' which defined the problem areas.

if you have been through assessments already, boxall may not adda great deal
