Olive oil pointed it out in 'Other Subjects' but as it was first mentioned here and I told lots of you on this section when it was out ... it's out.

April issue, Brooke Shields on the front, Charlotte Moir inside!

Lovely article - and inspirational for a scared mum who's expecting a Downs baby and doesn't know much about it. I showed my family.

Just gone and got my copy, loved the article and pictures

fairydust · 06/03/2004 16:54

I've just shown the article to my mum and she cried and said how beautiful lottie is.

sammac · 06/03/2004 17:27

Just to add my congratulations to all for such a lovely story. Lottie is beautiful, no wonder you're so proud.

hercules · 06/03/2004 17:27

How beautiful

Cried as well.

Kayleigh · 06/03/2004 18:52

Bought my copy today and read it in the car before I got home as i couldn't wait. What a lovely article. And Lottie is absolutely gorgeous.

suedonim · 06/03/2004 19:07

I blocked the aisle in Smith's today, reading your article, TC. It was lovely to read much of what you've said here on MN, all in one place. I especially loved the small pic of you and Lottie kissing. I guess you'll be buying a few copies of Eve, to put away for posterity!

Janh · 06/03/2004 19:58

suedonim, dear, how did you manage that? Just rip the bag open and toss it aside?

TC, as everybody has said, you and Lottie (and Dom) are just the best ambassadors for Down's - such a happy family - she is a lovely little girl, and beautiful too.

Thanks for the intro to Eve, TC and aloha - had never heard of it before - I like it! (But, like Tinker, I wanted the TP book and there weren't any so I have the other one - anyone want to swap?)

Thomcat · 06/03/2004 20:55

Dear all
I've had a truly rubbish weekend, fallen out for good it seems with a close friend from a close circle of friends. Feeling really, really shit and hence I'm in on a Saturday night. Thought I'd log onto good old Mumsnet and have just read all your posts.

I had to go and lay down on my bed and sob into my pillow! It felt good. Thanks for all your posts, especially a few of you that have commented that you think differently or that made a reference to your pregnancy etc, Freddie cat - it was you that got me blubbing to start! Eyelash, Mathamoo, Fairydust, you don't understand how good it was to read your posts esp in the mood I'm in. Janh, Janstar, ALL of you, thanks for going out, buying a copy, reading it and posting on here, it's so lovley and makes me so happy, esp to think that it might reassure people going through a scary time now or in the future.

Can I just thank Aloha agin.

Oh and just as a PS Aloha phoned me on Friday to say that the Evening Standard had been in touch and wanted to buy the peice! How nice is that. Aloha sadi that the money they pay will again go to the DS charities More good stuff to come out oh Alohas idea. What can I say Aloha, you don't know what you've done sweetheart, you're a great girl, thank you

I really meant to buy the magazine today but didn't get the chance. I am so looking forward to reading the article and seeing the photos.

Sorry that you are feeling down TC - why not op into the 'bar'....

The bag was open, Janh - was there supposed to be something in it, a freebie, then?

leander · 06/03/2004 21:36

thomcat I am sorry you are feeling so lousy, just wanted to say that I bought Eve today for the very fist time and to tell you that I think you and your husband are absolutely amazing and you really opened my eyes to what it must be like to have a child with ds and that Lottie is really really gorgous.
Leander xx

Janh · 06/03/2004 21:40

Yes, suedonim, there was a book - either Tony Parsons' Man & Wife or else - um - a chick-lit one - the devil wears Prada? Didn't you get one? Go back to WHS and tell them!

TC, sweetheart, I'm so sorry this has happened - I do hope it's just one of those spatty things and you can make up with your friend. Life's too short - I expect she is as upset as you - can you ring her when the dust has settled a bit?

And, yet again, 3 cheers for aloha

coppertop · 06/03/2004 21:42

Sorry you've had such a bad time, Thomcat.

I tried to get a copy of Eve and they'd sold out already! I'm determined to get hold of a copy though. I think sales of Eve must have rocketed with all the MN'ers buying it.

That's brilliant news about the Evening Standard. Go Lottie!

suedonim · 06/03/2004 21:48

Hmm, I think light fingers must have raided the shelves before I got there, Janh. I didn't buy the mag as my house is bursting at the seams with books, papers and magazines which I need to get rid of before tomorrow, when dd2 has her birthday tea!

Sorry about the bust-up, Tc, I hope you can resolve it.

Janh · 06/03/2004 22:11

Cheeky sods!

Hope dd2 has a lovely birthday, suedonim!

Davros · 07/03/2004 11:21

TC, lovely article and photos. My neice was visiting and said what a gorgeous child as she tried to read my mag before me! I've never bought Eve before and enjoyed it AND got Tony Parsons without even looking at what it was
Very sorry to hear of your bust up with "friend".

Clayhead · 07/03/2004 12:01

Janh, you can have my TP book if you want it.
