Can I do anything about another 6 month wait.

Hi , my ds is currently being assessed for asd and has diagnoses of DCD , SPD , significant speech and launguage disorder. A lot of obversation's and assessments have been done and at the last appointment I was told they are waiting for the last reports (of which I had already been sent a copy or a month before) and then they would see us again.

Had a letter in the post today saying they suspect social and communication disorder , are still waiting for the reports and will review in 6 months .

My ds is 13 , I know the reports must be available as I have copies , can I insist on not waiting any more or is this normal.

Also , probably stupid question , but is social and communication disorder , asd , or not?

Thanks , that's how I see it too , all the assessments have been done , because of my ds age , he is aware of what's going on and I feel will benefit from knowing now , rather than waiting even longer, even if they say he does not meet the requirements for a diagnosis which I know is possible .I feel we can then focus on just helping him, knowing exactly what is going on.
