Dd age 4 has ASD, significant sensory processing difficulties, speech disorder, glue ear, squint, chronic constipation and a restricted diet. She also presents with extremely high anxiety levels.
She lasted 8 weeks in nursery with a 1:1 before we removed her as she stopped eating, sleeping and speaking at all. [sad
We had and continue to have full support of SISS with this decision and we went for SA. Well we heard yesterday that the panel have refused as they feel it's a home problem not a school problem, as despite the fact that she did not speak, did not interact with other children only screamed at them when they approached her, they were not inclusive - left her out of seasonal activities I.e nursery nativity, and they admitted they could not assess her baseline, the nursery reported her to be absolutely fine
So now we're exploring the options. We intend to appeal the refusal of the SA but we're also looking into HS. We were told today however by mil who is an SEN teacher that we require CRB. Its not an issue of passing it, but I found it rather strange.
Hoping someone can shed some light, and/or provide info on appealing the SA refusal!!
