ADHD Assessment in Ireland/Northern Ireland

Hi,
We are suspicious that our DS age 5 may have adhd and wish to have him assessed as soon as possible therefore we will need to do this privately. Has anyone out there been through this in Ireland or Northen Ireland and could you please recommend anywhere. We just don't know where to start..

Hi there,

I had my DS assessed in ROI. Firstly we arranged a private assessement. I got a recommendation from my DS's school headteacher and our GP recommended same person. Once we had this report we were referred to CAHM's by our family GP. They did a complete assessement again and was diagnosed as ADHD (inattentive type).

So I would think as first point of call talk to school and GP.
