Happy New Year to everyone and thanks to those who have given me such fantastic advice and support. DS also starting school this year, which is a v scary thought! Good luck to everyone going through the statementing process.

Happy New Year to you all from Castle Ugger, hoping for a brighter and breezier year in 2014. I've never felt better equipped to take on the task of getting my DSs through, and a lot of that's down to the help, compassion & humour around here..

Pretty hardcore 2014 coming up. We're likely to be staring down the barrel of 2 concurrent SENDIST appeals, an ASD assessment and - if I can fit it in - a short & sharp campaign to get Ofsted to conduct their first specific inspection of a certain LA's specialist SEN service.

Starting this year far more broke and exhausted than the last one, but more hopeful in many ways....there is no headbanging, the LEA are going to have to cough up something at some stage soon, and DS has had a term at a MS school without being booted out! Happy new year to all!

Happy new year from me. Sorry I'm an infrequent visitor these days, new job is very time filling. I've got a few issues to deal with in 2014, options for DS2 and first meetings about his transition after Y11, double as he'll probably not be able to stay on at the sixth form to do A levels. I'll be here asking for advice from the mums of older DC.
