DD2 was looking at the back of a cereal packet. It says 'Hop on one leg for 1 minute -do both legs.'

DD2 said 'Mum, this is just not possible!! It says to hop on one leg, then it says 'do both legs'. You can't do two legs. It's just not possible. You can only bounce!'

When I'd picked myself up from the floor, I explained that they mean do both legs, one at a time.

She doesn't believe me Hmm

She's brillant. She might not 'get it' but she's sufficiently engaged to alert you to inconsistencies in her world and enabling her to learn the no doubt stupid rules.

Ds woukd read it, not understand it, and have no interest in understanding it. He would even notice the inconsistencies.

Yes, that's a thought. She is definitely keen to point out how stupid everyone is!

DD1, on the other hand, can't read it but if we read it out to her, she'd probably start trotting around the room in an attempt to hop on both legs at once Grin

zzzzz, poor Lego people!

Isn't it funny how they're all so different, yet the world paints ASD (and let's face it, dd2 isn't even acknowledged to be anything other than NT yet) as one 'thing'.
