grrrrrrr.

Applied for a few hours of support for my kids under something called Aiming High. I had letters today saying they didn't meet the criteria. Just now had a phone call from the co-ordinating bloke from the ss team, who said he'd had an email about my youngest saying he doesn't have adhd, just autism.

I did what you should never do with social services Grin I lost my temper. I said that it is par for the course, I don't know what I was thinking expecting any form of help from them seeing as we've gone it alone for 14 years and I am interested to learn my youngest doesn't have adhd seeing as he's been on 30mg equasym xl daily for six months and it's clearly dual dx on our last letter from his paed, but this is really just all to be expected. God forbid they should actually offer any funding or support.

Bloody useless people.

I've a good mind to tell them that I hope they're happy that they saved a few quid now because the day my kids turn 18 I'll hand them over to adult services and they can fund a place in a shared home and 24/7 support at several grand a week each and console themselves with the thought that they saved a few hours here and there while they were kids.

I mean, I wouldn't do it, but god I wish they admitted how much we do and will save this country money as our children grow into adults.

Cross for you too! Like the LEA statement refusal lady who said ds did not have a learning disability (he has LD around the severe level alongside ASD/ADHD - so nothing then although I did try to explain centiles to her).
Frankly a bit of anger is needed sometimes!!

HECTheHeraldAngelsSing · 10/12/2013 19:21

He was quiet for a minute then said he would talk to them.

had an email from WHO?

seriously if info is being shared about you behind your back, then you have a right to

1/ see that info asap
2/ correct it
3/ ask SS to reconsider their refusal based on the FACTS of your case not some shady anonymous unqualified opinion

Medical details are supposed to be confidential partly to stop errors impacting on public services offered to those who need them.

He is some outreach worker and they are the aiming high team. I will ask where they got their info. Didnt think of that.
