Could it just be a phase?

Elijahs suddenly got really uptight about his hands getting mucky, wotsits are a nightmare, he needs his hands wiping betweem each one.. he appals himself with his bum explorations [thats not as bad as it sounds, he does it whilst r just after pooing, foul but not as foul as it coul be ] basically its anytihng other then water he's suddenly bothered by...

Has nayone elses little treasure gone through a phase like this, or have I a life time of handwashing and tactile defensiveness to look forward to.

about 5 months ago my ds became really fussy about everything.mucky hands, tiny marks on his clothes ,if the kitchen floor had crumbs or something on it he would walk on tiptoes to try and avoid it,if there was litter in the street again the tiptoe thing would happen. So although I'm no help whats so ever your son isn't the only one.Hope it gets better for you both though

All the children in Lotties therapy sessions had texture prob and were all made to play with messy stuff to get them used to diff textures, playdough, that cornflour and water stuff, sand, talcum powder etc, so I would say it was common and workable.

Its reassuring to know its workable!

Its just come from nowhere, he still has to rub his head in everything though... why can't he have a tactile defiensive forehead?
