GP appointment

My DS aged 5 is developmentally behind his peers - has trouble speaking (has speech therapy), is really struggling with reading, writing, fine motor skills.

His school have asked me to take him to the GP as he has had a runny nose for a while - seems within what I consider to be normal for a child - and to mention his developmental delays.

What can the GP do? Yes he is behind but he is progressing. Could I expect a referral to a pead or a specialist? I don't know what I want the GP to do, if they ask what I want to them to do what do I ask for?

Thanks

I would ask for a referral to a developmentap paed.

make a listnof your concerns/DS's delays.

is he getting help at school?
