Other Forums for SN or ASD Only - Recommendations?

Hi Everyone

I don't use any other sites like MN. I am a member of several EGroups which function in a different way as you are not usually anonymous and its not so conversational. I'd like to know if anyone can recommend any exclusively SN or ASD ones? This is partly because of the recent upset on here and I just wondered if using a less general site would work better for me (as well as MN). Any advice or ideas? THANKS.

I visit ASD Friendly which is for all types of Autism (high/low/aspergers). It is a site for parents, run by parents. Apart from the serious side (needing information and help etc) they have a good laugh too.

Davros · 16/07/2006 20:37

Thanks Pisces, I'll have a look at it.

Fio, personally I think God needs a good thnaking now and then A site of our own would be good but I expect its a lot of hard work, urgh!

tbh I don;t go on there much now the site has moved, but they are good on SN

Davros · 16/07/2006 20:54

But do these all kick off too? Am I just being naive thinking that an SN/ASD specialised one would be any better/different?
Fio, don't phone tomorrow as I am planning on going to Lords for the last day of the cricket, heh heh. Ooooaawuahoow, the dreadful lives we mums of kids with SN lead (ooh, I nearly typed groin)

I like the Aspergers & ASD forum that Uniqorn linked to. I haven't been on there for ages but I can only remember one row. By a bizarre coincidence it turned out to be someone who I've known IRL since I was at primary school.

charleypopspreviouslyntt · 16/07/2006 21:36

special kids in the uk is good and is well moderated (not pre-moderated though, so instant posting), and there's no way anything offensive could get through. I posted the word shit there once and it soon got asterisked

onlyjoking9329 · 16/07/2006 21:48

davros JJ and i belong to a ASD on line group, CAT me.

anniebear · 17/07/2006 07:48

Thanks! Just joined special kids!

2shoes · 17/07/2006 09:49

I have as well I will see you there

anniebear · 17/07/2006 13:51

Lol

Its a wonder this thread is still here!!!

Mumsnet will be worrying everyone is going to join elsewhere!!!!!

Must admit I haven't posted as much on Mumsnet as I used to, I am always to scared to say anything in case I get 'yelled' at!!

But I suppose sites where people talk about their Children is always going to bring up some strong views. I am sure a site with just parents would be different

anniebear · 17/07/2006 13:52

lol lol, I meant

"with just parents of SN children"
