After months (years) of thinking our dc3 had issues which were beyond our parenting, I got a letter this morning saying they think he is too young for an ADHD diagnosis but they noticed several concerning behaviours in their first meeting with us and want to follow up with assessments for ASD when they can be arranged. I feel even more relieved than I did when I got the last letter giving us an appointment.

Dh is ecstatic. We're currently in discussion with our HV team regarding dc3 showing similar behaviours. Although I'm hoping it's simply their inability to communicate anything at the moment rather than something which could go on and on.

I agree it is good to be taken seriously, my Dd3 was diagnosed with Asd at 9 and it has been very positive for all of us.

Good luck Smile
