My child has issues around some clothing textures , he finds them unbearable to wear . With the recent change in temperature I've been trying to get him to wear his school jumper . He just can't tolerate the feel , says it's too itchy , have washed jumper several time and used softer , he still not put it on . We tried long sleeve shirts as well , he's a teenager so know that no point trying to force him to wear it , as will just get thrown in his bag.
He is complaining that it's cold but still not wear the thing. Any help would be gratefully received . I know it's not a big major issue in long run , but hate seeing him going out cold , have managed to get him to wear and outdoor jacket , but he said its cold in school as not allowed anything that not uniform policy.

Does he wear any other jumpers?

Long-sleeve t-shirt under the long-sleeve shirt? With/without the jumper. It might give enough cushion to stop the itch.

No , refuses to wear any , has couple of hoodies from Hollister that like feel off , but that's it. (He's a teenager, everyone wearing this company).
Also meant to say jacket only got worn today over blazer as so cold. Nagging him.

Can you find the least offensive warm thing possible, in as close to school colours as possible with possibly the attachment of the school logo (cut from the jumper?) and then insist on this as a reasonable adjustment!?

If he needed special shoes to walk and they didn't come in school colours they'd have to be allowed for example.

lots of 'possible's - sorry.

DS1 is wearing a branded sports high tec tshirt under his shirt. Basically an expensive thermal vest but cool Grin

I would go for the base layer too.

Dd3 has one for under her scout shirt. Sports direct have 2 for £14 at the moment. They had white when I was in there the other day.

Good luck, I am expecting this next year too Sad

Well he gone out this morning with t shirt under his shirt , no jumper though, but at least it's an extra layer . He also put his jacket over his blazer , without me nagging , I'm a lot happier.
Thanks everyone looks like jumper was a waste of money . You can only try . Eh . Whose to know .
