I know all the facts won't have been covered in the article but this seems pretty dire provision.

I'm not surprised at the comments from that kind of paper. I doubt the readers would be so outraged at the poor girl getting more than that paid out in benefits when the poor thing ends up on the dole for the rest of her life.

Sounds like mums been through hell. I hope to god I'm not still doing this when ds is 13

It would appear to be a case where the parent trusted the school to do the best and didn't have the knowledge/support to challenge the LA when they named a BESD instead of a specialist dyslexia placement.

I see another Phelps v Hillingdon Borough Council here - the case that found that LAs are vicaraiously liable for the actions of their staff. It too was a dyslexia case.
