Update on Eidsvold's FIL - if you're interested

FIL finally saw cancer consultant last week - he has a metastatic melanoma stage 5. WHen MIL asked if we are talking weeks or months - he said both.....

so from what dh and I can find out - if it's in your skin and lungs - okay ( not brilliant but OK) well in FIL's lungs. If it is in your bone, brain or liver - not okay - well also in FIL's liver. Less than 10% of people last 5 years. Most last between 6 and 12 months!!

We are hoping longer - trying to desperately save so we can all go over Nov 07!! ( earliest we can afford and manage to pay for without going into huge debt.) But if he doesn't then dh will go back again for the funeral!!

Gee I was very pragmatic when told the news but typing it out makes me feel very sad

for and your family. This must be hard news with the separation. Really hope something works out so that you can all go sooner rather than later. Thinking of you. xx

Sorry to hear this eidsvold It must be difficult when you are so far away too. My mum died of cancer in 2002 - she only lived for 5 months after diagnosis and it was a huge shock to us all. Sending my thoughts and prayers to your family.

Do you have a webcam so you can video-mail each other?

nope - arfisymeau - we did give them our pc but mil and fil are a little daunted by internet etc.... lots of pics and we do up videos to send to them. IN fact when DH visited last week he took a copy of our recordings from when we left the UK two years ago to some shots of the dds saying hiya and we love you and singing for the il's. So it really is just a waiting game.
