How can the senco help more?

I'm looking into work experience as a senco in my local primary school. ( I'm a teacher at the mo).

As a parent, how have you found your school senco? And what more do you wish they would or wouldn't do?

I'd be grateful for some input. As a parent I'm also aware that there is sometimes a 'them and us' mentality between school and parent which I'm keen to avoid.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/special_needs is probably a better place to put your question. This board gets very little traffic

But basically, learn to tell the difference between Local Authority policy and the law. And understand that partnership with parents isn't outreach, if anything it is 'inreach'.
