DLA APPEAL!!!!!!!!

Hiya

We have been awarded low rate dla for DT2. We had asked for reconsideration and recieved a letter yesterday stating they are sticking to their decision/

I am thinking of going to appeal.

DT2 has low muscle tone, joint hypeermobility. Awaiting dx and the signs point to dyspraxia, CP.

On his assesment statement it also states development delay however he is to return to the CDC in Aug/Sept time for further assesment and dx!!

Does anyone have any experience of appeal, and what can you advise me?
Many Thanks
Jambuttie

I have just phoned them this morning to see why he was refused.

They say that as he is only 2.5 he does not qualify for mobility- knew that anyway.

Although he does need assistance in feedind he does not need more care for a child his age in other areas either day or night

So all the physio he needs, assistance in walking, his clumsiness, turning in the night cause hes painfully thin, falling out of bed need I go on

they really DO need to spend a day with families i think

next step appeal

any tips?

Have posted on your other thread - the appeal will probably be after Sept so get the CDC on side when you go. Ask them to put everything in writing to you.
