DLA

I got a text today saying ds1 has had dla granted but obviously didn't say what rate etc. how long does it normally take for the letter to arrive after the text?

I've never had a text before. How modern!

I've never received a text, but I suppose it may have changed.

Both times (initial and renewal) I got a letter through first saying that I'd be responsible for doing the right thing with the money and then a letter through with the award details.

its not a scam I had a text to tell me dd had been awarded dla. I phoned them and they told me over the phone what rates had been awarded.

Oh fab thank you. I may ring them tomorrow in that case.

apparently there are two offices dealing with DLA - one texts you, the other doesn't. I got a text sayig they were speaking to DDs physio, the a confirmation she was getting it, then had to wait ages for the letter confirming the levels (after the first payment had been made)

I had texts too telling me they were looking at our form and that Dd3 had been awarded DLA it took about 5/7 days after that to get the letter but in between they paid some back pay into my account.

I had a text too and called to find out rate and check genuine. Letter took 2 weeks or so from text.

How long did it take them to decide to award it ?

It took 2 weeks from me posting it and getting the text. I rang and found out the levels but can't really believe it. I really want to get the letter first.

It was in my account on Monday. Got the confirmation letter on Wednesday.

Oh, hopefully we'll get the letter next week.
