Dd1 turns 4 this year and figured as she now went to Kindy - perhaps she could have a party for her birthday.

Plan - have it at the local park - (yard not safe yet ( needs fencing) and lots of works in progress)

thought we could do a little painting activity ( takehome party pack - door hanger or something like that.

then play a treasure hunt game - match the pics - give each child a pic and they have to find the matching one.

then let them run for a while - play on play equipment

quieter game - to come together for lunch

food in little boxes/pails or something like that

more playing

birthday cake and then home.

being a novice at this - does it sound all right. few children with sn coming but figure what the heck - let them have fun

Nibbles for parents

Does this sound okay?

Any other suggestions of food ideas, gmaes etc

Party bags - colouring pencils ( sml pkt) and colouring book with door hanger they made. No food

Sounds very similar to the party we had for DS1 this year. The food boxes worked particularly well - much easier than spreading all the food out and letting it get trampled on! In retrospect I don't think we let them have enough time just for play - too many organised games - so your plan sounds very good.
