off to a conference today put on by one of our parent groups for parent's of children with ds. Interesting modules - shall let you know how it goes... very interested in the one about managing behaviour.... perhaps I should have invited Jimjams local virgin manager to accompany me

well have had a very informative day - it was presented by folk form the downs ed center. The most positive thing dh and I got from it was that we were doing a number of things naturally that were a big help to dd and then we learnt about a number of other strategies and resources to use.

did you meet anyone who had gone through the same kind of things as you -and do you feel 'high' or 'low' after this? Glad you got the 'new ideas' and i'm sure you shared some good things with others there. XX

It's always a relief when you find out that you've been doing 'the right thing' all along, isn't it? Or is that just me and my paranoia?!

knew some people who have older children with ds and saw others - unfortunately it was a conference setting and during lunch we had to look after dd ( who had been in the creche) this made it hard to meet new ppl.

I came away feeling empowered and enthusiastic about new things to try with dd.
