Hi Kerrie, my ds2 had a significant head lag & took a long while to develop any control.
In his case there was an obvious cause (was very prem & has CP).
If a baby is showing delays in any area it is good that they are checked out early & part of that is looking for a cause, so they will note any thing that COULD point towards a genetic cause or a known condition.
My son had genetic testing as the doc noticed he has a number of birth marks, was particularly hairy, has unusual shaped ears & earlobes.
His genetic tests came back clear, he is just hairy with funny ears!
So I guess what I am saying in that its good they are looking at causes, the things they have noted may be something or nothing, his head control may just improve naturally.
Stay away from google, I'm sure if you put in the list of things you describe you could diagnose all sorts of conditions & its likely to not be accurate.
The waiting is horrid, so take care of yourself
