I have just found out tonight that my wonderful, beautiful ds who has severe autism was told at an 'inclusive' session at the swimming baths that people like him should not be outside unless they could behave properly.
He is 12, still my baby fgs, his support workers would not tell me on the night it happened (was 2 weeks ago) because I would have flipped. The person who said this was a member of staff who works at the swimming pool.
What fun I am going to have on my telephone tomorrow Hmm

Shock And at an 'inclusive' session, too?!

osospecial · 17/10/2013 00:47

Angry that's awful! I can't believe they waited 2 weeks to tell you either!

Laceyshoes · 17/10/2013 10:36

That's unbelievable :( Your poor son.

PicturesOfParadise · 17/10/2013 17:46

dreadful isn't it. In fairness to the staff they had to wait two weeks because I would have ripped the head off the staff member who said this, bad enough having incident forms to fill in and a hugely distressed ds
And this is why sometimes, just sometimes inclusion does not suit some children :(

Rarely do I swear unless its at a disabilist they really test my resiliance Angry

Its not inclusion that doesnt work, its the d*ckhead disabilist staff who make it not work.
I dont understand why these people dont find another line of work

He does love the swimming hopefully not at that setting again!
The management team who co ordinate ds and the other children who go to this club are in communication with the leisure centre, disability discrimination training is going to happen now
But yes it is shocking!

Well luckily your ds has a lovely mum, who can rip heads off! Very Envy Is there a class I can take for head ripping?

My bastard list is open and this particular ignorant bastard is being added to the section of
"Your sooo losing your job, bastard" section or perhaps "your sooo giving my child a personal and heartfelt apology bastard" (to his face too)
