Work (teaching) plus severely autistic son, its killing me.

How much longer can I do this for? I'm 40. He is 10. Other DS and DH have had enough too.

Hmm

Oh, stillenact! Teaching alone is exhausting! Didn't want to read and move on and I hope someone comes along soon who can give you some advice.

Are you getting enough respite, I was very wary of the overnight but DS2 loves it and they take him out for trips. The first time we sat at home guilty but amazed at how we never just sit and watch tv or playing a board game.

Thank you both xxx we do get two nights a month. Trying to get 3 from SS is like trying to get blood out of a stone.

Its like I am clinging on to my life by my fingertips.

Nothing to say but Wine and Angry at your SS. I won't say 'you're amazing' or 'I admire you' cos that is pure crap. So in the absence of anything constructive, this Thanks

Thanks Handywoman xx

Can you ask if your SS do personal budgets, I get to choose where I use respite money over night is £ 350 for a weekend night £250 week day night, so depending on family needs we sometimes transfer this into hours for dp worker.
