Quick question - diagnosing a Learning Disability

DS has ASD. Consultant referred him to local NHS child psychology dept re rigid thinking around food and toilet training.

Got a letter saying his is not eligible for this service as he doesn't have a learning disability. I disagree, and challenged them. They are now going to assess him.

My question is...how? What diagnostic tools are they likely to use?

Google is not my friend, I can't find anything! Forewarned is forearmed and all that jazz.

SALT did a cognitive understanding test and it said he was functioning as a 2.7 year old, I would have thought that indicated a LD?

Sadly I think they are trying to squirm out of providing the service.

Didn't realise OT could help with those issues, I will follow this up, thanks.

Will have a look at the IQ test and see how I think he will score.
