requesting school records

I am intending to request ds2 records from school . i was wondering whether there was a chance they may only send me what they want me to see ?
also , will his records from his previous school be with them at this school or would i have to obtain them separately ?

Well I requested the 'whole school record' and did get paperwork from the previous school included.
I do think,in my case, that school put in what they wanted to put in iykwim. I know this shouldn't be the case but it's your word against theirs really.

When I complained I was told that I absolutely had received all the paperwork there was. Fast forward to a tribunal order and some new paperwork has now emerged. They apparently had not included it as 'it had not been mentioned before'

Do separate DPA requests to the LA, the school he's now at, and the school he was at. And anyone else you can think of - including local doctors.

My LA weeded data, but the school they wanted to place my DS in did not - so stuff that didn't appear in the LA's records, appeared in glorious techni-colour in this school's records. It has been very informative to determine what was and wasn't weeded. And working out exactly why my LA choose to weed it...

Actually it wasn't particularly hard to work out why the LA weeded out one set of documents - it was the LA's unlawful retrospective consultation with their named school. The LA didn't declare the documents, but the school did

Weeding should not happen. But it does. So if you blitz other agencies - all at the same time - you will probably find other info.

I did also obtain LA records but school implied that all the records and notes made by LA managers were actually incorrect!

There was also a note made by the LA showing that the school staff were concerned at getting an 'official looking' request for records from me. I wonder why that was.
