my daughter is 3 years 4 months and started mainstream nursery a month ago. she has a lot of health issues: has a rare blood condition/bone marrow failure and has blood transfusions every few weeks (has had over 40 since birth) and waiting for bone marrow transplant. she has low immune so is poorly a lot and has to bekept away from anyone polrly, she has a portacath, is on medication through pump subcut every night which is going up too 24/7 soon, has delayed development has been plotted around 18months, has a lot of feet and leg problems, having speech therapy, physio, 8 consultants etc. basically b4 she started nursery for her 15hrs we said she couldnt do thu n fri coz of appointments so nursery said they didnt have enufstaff for afternoons n would put her in reception on afternoons so she had 2.5days i was concerned she would managethis but was assured it would be ok. her teacher has now spoke to us and said they basically cant cope with her. they said she is way behind and we where promised a 1on1 which turns out the receptionist has been doing this, they said she is effecting the other childrens education because she takes up so much time wether it be help with stuff in class, nappy changing and potty training, her being tired and upset or in pain and feeling unwell they said she is getting upset n needin alot of attention for her needs and they just cant manage. she getd tired a lot and falls quite a lot which upsets her and she is obv behind all the other kids. they have said she needs a statement which i have said from start but i honestly think she would be better off in SN nursery where they have the resourses and facilities to givr her the care and attention she needs. i have a meeting next week with everyone involved as ive brought her early years action + meeting forward. just wanting advice on statements n our situation is it hard to get place in sn nursery n where do i stand with getting place while waiting for statement as school has cut her down to just 3 morning till its sorted, sorry for long post just angry n upset they even went n got her 6yo sister out of class to calm her down coz they where busy n didnt no what to do xx
