Clinical psychologist referral...

...suggested today by DS2's audiologist. His tantrums are spectacular and he's been very, very hard to get to school in the mornings for about six months. He often lacks empathy towards others and is often happy to retreat into his own world. His anger is fearsome and he says awful, awful things to us when he's upset about all the ways he'll hurt us etc etc. But he's also very sociable and affectionate and loves drama and performance too.

He is hearing impaired, has a S&L delay (though this has improved greatly with therapy) and has vestibular hypofunction too.

I'm a bit scared tbh. I'm scared of what they'll tell me about his behaviour and what it means.

Has anyone had any experience of involvement with a clinical psychologist? What sort of things do they ask you? Do you go to a clinic or do they come and see you at home?
