Getting nervous....big 3Di appt on Monday

Well, after all that waiting, the big appt is coming up. I have been led to believe the appt will be at least a couple of hours. Only DH and I will attend, no DS1. We filled out a form a few months ago....what happens in this appt, then? Has anyone been through this? Will we get a dx (or not) on Monday?

Oh mrsb my stomach churns for you!! Good luck!!! We are 15 months through an 18 month wait and will also be doing 3di so I'll be interested to hear how it goes. No idea whether you'll know on the day. Good luck and please come and report back!!!!!

Oso, I think it is our dx appt. the 3Di is a massive questionnaire that they put the results of into the computer. Apparently it is really good at identifying autism and comorbs in high functioning individuals and adults.

We suspect AS, SPD and possibly ADHD (though I think a lot of those symptoms are possibly sensory).

I am terrified we will have got this far and be turned away with 'traits' or 'not bad enough for dx' which is what happened when we looked at dyspraxia and SPD two years ago. Round here I think SPD is considered 'normal' so all we got was a leaflet from OT, and no other help or advice. Not terribly useful when he is so worn out from 'coping' at school that he is a nightmare at home :(

We have a big 3 hr ASD assessment next week with DD2, aged 5. I am bricking it.

We have been building up to this for over 3 years.

Either way it goes I'm going to be devastated. Are they likely yo tell us their decision on the day?

Assessments are so stressful and draining. :-/

Necessary though. I hate my child's problems and inadequacies being analysed.
