How long from referral to appointment?

Ds was referred 4 weeks ago. I'm not expecting him to be seen for a long time but should we have had an appointment letter through the door before now? I don't want to call the docs and i wouldn't know where he is being referred to so can't ring there. I'd just like to know when his appointment is!

I would call the docs anyway just to make sure that a letter has actually been sent out.

In my experience appointment letters arrive only a week or two before its due to take place.
