My dd has finally got and appointment with DK am very pleased as we are still on the NHs waiting list and I worry the ADOS wouldn't pick up her issues as she is very good at imitating NT behaviour.
Am just wondering what actually happens during the appointment and are you told on the day if she makes a dx?

Hi, we saw her last month. I sent copies of all reports for her to read in advance as well as a written bit by myself with some background info on dd (as I'm useless at remembering things on the day) she sent us a questionnaire for school to fill in. She told us dx on the day.
I told her my main concern is getting dd good early intervention and she has put reccommendaions in the report about what dd needs that I'm sure are gng to help as I'm applying for SA now.

Sorry forgot to say during the appointmnt she just spoke to us and observed dd.

Thanks osospecial her secretary emailed to say she had sent me some information so hopefully there will be something for the school.
That is great that they told you the dx on the day.

Yes, I think it helped that she had a good look at everything before the appointment and I think she had pretty much made her mind up from that, we were all done in about an hour, we chatted for about another 30 min then left 30 min early as it was supposed to be a 2 hr appointment. Good luck, hope yours goes well, it was definitely worth the money for us, mainly to help get right support. We were told 2yr waiting list on NHS but since I've told them about private dx they have moved it forwards to Jan!

Sounds really positive, glad the NHs moved your appointment forward. I hate how long things take, our dd was first referred in February 2012 and we still don't have a date for her ADOS assessment.

DK accepts private medical insurance so if your dd is covered under your dh policy it should be ok. And yes she does diagnose children who might not get a diagnosis using ADOS or DISCO especially girls.

Otherwise she charges £760 for the appointment plus report and recommendations if necessary.
