On Wednesday I went to get school shoes for my 2. DS is 8 and has an ASD. DD is 5 and I am rapidly coming to the conclusion she is not NT.

DD's sensory issues about her feet are legion. I hate getting her shoes. It is hell. She has lived in crocs this summer.

So, when we arrived at the shoe shop it was virtually empty. We didn't wait long at all. We were served by a lad who can't have been more than about 12. (I am old!!). I explained that both my children had issues with shoes. He was bloody amazing. He was calm and patient. He picked up how I spoke to DS and used descriptive praise as well, especially when DD was kicking off and DS was getting twitchy. He even offered me a cup of tea!

I have written to head office to praise him but I wanted to share that there are lovely people out there.

And then today we finally met the behaviour nurse. She was lovely. I am full of hope that she will help us to find the support we need.

Moving - I went to Clinkards in Lincoln......

I have always had good service there, they are really patient. AND you can make an appointment for fittings. I've never used that service as I always wait until about lunchtime as it seems to be less busy then. I might use the appointment thing another time though!
