Clips to keep shoe laces tied?

DS (who has autism) has chosen 2 new pairs of shoes - a big deal in our household. However they are both lace up shoes, which he cannot do.

I am sure he will learn eventually, but he will do it when he is developmentally ready, which may be a while yet.

As one pair are school shoes I'm looking for some sort of clip we can put on them, and thought someone on here might have seen some??

For younger children, there are "bow biters", but these are good for school shoes

A friend of mine (who is a triathlete) just recommended that you go to a "serious" sports shop and ask for speed laces. They are a no stretch lacing system that keeps tight with toggles and clips, and are designed for the quick transition during a race. Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone for you help. Smile

It was bow biters I was thinking of but I've decided to get the lock laces as they will blend in with his shoes more.

Loads of helpful links, hopefully they will help other parents too!
